What’s a Maratana?

(Crossing, Zoluren: Arhat 351)

While I was passing through Via Iltesh a few days ago on my way back to my guild, I happened to notice something unusual. Now, I will be the first to admit that I have not been in these realms for too long, but I have passed through this way many a times to sell my branches to Mags.

So when I noticed an odd looking person standing beside a grate which I have never seen before, I asked around and found out this stranger’s name was Maratana Djabadary.

"And what in the name of Hodierna is a Maratana?" I thought to myself. Being the charming, charismatic Emapth that I am, I attempted to question the Maratana; however, he only proceeded to ignore me, no matter what I asked him.

Undaunted, I decided to uncover the mysteries of this new grate when finally, the Maratana seemed to notice me.

"Ah, Felura, how do I put this. . . . My own mother was an Empath, so I have a soft spot for ye. However, I cannot let you pass through." After preventing my passage, he turned around and promptly ignored me again.

So, my friends and companions of Elanthia, just what exactly is this Maratana Djabadary doing in the Crossing? Who can proceed through the grate, and what lies behind it?
