Threat Left on the Bar

(Crossing, Zoluren: Skullcleaver 361)

A shadowy figure enters the tavern close to after the invasion. He looks around and sees few patrons in the tavern. He pulls out a notice places it on the bulletin board. And quickly makes a hasty exit.

Baresh looks at the note that the figure left on the board it reads…

The last invasion was shown with mercy. Lord Sorrow has many more units then was used. Swear allegiance to him and peace will be yours. Fight against him and you will die. Resistance is futile.

Baresh glares after him and turns to the group of dwarves at a nearby table.

"You know, the way I heard it is that Sadiaer was so infuriated at the death of Lissanda — Surely you all heard a scream of rage from up there? I heard it clear over here!"

Patrons all over the bar nod in agreement. Who could have missed it?

Baresh leans forward, with a twinkle in his eye, "So, here’s what I heard; Sadiaer sort of got out of control, and unleashed the S’lai and Elpazi in his rage. Those ‘poor’ Elpazi leaders had to run after their troops and try to reign it all back in — without letting on that something had gone unplanned…"

Someone piped up from the now quiet tavern floor, " Ahhh, that’s why it all stopped so suddenly at the gate to town then."

People nod their heads, and go about ignoring the initial threat from the messenger. At least they didn’t shoot this one.
