Battle at Sea

Dear Baresh,

Good day friend. Sorry I could not come in person but do I have a tale for ye and the people who come here.

Well, I packed up my gear and headed out to Aesry for hunting trip to make some money and try to move farther up in my guild. Once I loaded the Halasa Selhin I headed to the captain’s quarters to get some rest. I over slept and missed the Aesry dock.

Later that night I was awoke by loud noises and the ship shaking violently. I stumbled out of the quarters and headed to the main deck to find out we were getting attacked by pirates. I looked around the deck to see who else was awake and spotted Molark, Jinni, Amtosious, Valkrom, Seriannalyn, Heartfang, Kortny, and Ranzeer. Still half asleep I was tryin to piece together what was goin on. I was fully awoke when the hull of the ship took a strong hit and a piece of rock hit me in the head. I stood there for a second not sure what to really do. I overheard Molark saying that we were tryin to out run the fastes transport ship that was part of the ZEF. I’m known for my bad memory and cant recall the name of the ship the pirates used. It came to my attention that Jourok and Miloubrae were steering the other ship.

We took many more hits and soon the hull started to buckle. All we could do was stand there and get attacked. The captain just kept steering and wouldnt do anything. A few sailors would climb the masses and try to fix the ruined parts but they didnt really do much because they soon break and sent metal chains flying. Finally some sailors brought us a mangonel and some rocks. It took about 6 of us to get the mangonel ready to shoot. We loaded the rocks up, aimed, and fired. The first shot was a miss, we were tryin to figure out how to work the thing. As soon as the pirates were in ranged, we’d fire. We hit them a bunch and they hit us a bunch. But from the distance between us we couldnt tell how much damage we did. After a while of exchanging blows Jourok came over the gweth sayin he saw a ZEF ship coming in from the north and that they better call it a day. So the ship stopped chasing us and drifted away. We werent sure if a ZEF was actually there or if they needed an excuse to retreat. As we neared Pokekehekepi Beach we heard cheering from around us. We docked there and the ship got repaired.

I dont know if I’d be here to share this story if it wasnt for the other people on the ship with me. From my understanding this is the first time this has happened and I know it’ll probably happen again in the future. These pirates need to be stopped once and for all. Farewell good sir.
