Coordinators targetted by Sorrow

(Crossing, Zoluren: Uthmor 360)

Following an announced, but not hugely-attended election, three individuals were selected to attempt to get cooperation and coordination going on a defense of Crossing and Stone Clan.

Elected were Paschein, Melvi and myself, Piextra.

Since the election, we’ve been plagued with visits from assassins.

They arrive in the shadows and shoot at us, and then try to kill everyone else in the room as well, in an effort to isolate us from friends and assistance. While speaking with Melvi before a public meeting (attended by Darkensi, much to some folks’ dismay) on defense, we were both attacked by assassins. Apparently, they are so fearsome that trying to avoid them by leaving the room or hiding will cause you to stumble in fear.

I was killed, and the assassin left me a message, as follows…

An assassin snickered to himself as he leered at my corpse. Opening his hand, he let a black raven feather flutter to the ground beside me.

He drawed out, "Message for ye…milady. Heed it or more will follow." Cackling, he sprinted off.

Paschein got a little more time with the killer before someone dragged her off. When asked, the assassin snickered something about working for the "Rattler," who had hired out his services to another. The feathers were our clue.

Melvi has been singled out for specific attention, as she is often seen as the most reasonable of the three of us. Last time she was assassinated, a whisper reached her ears…

She heard the voice whisper to her… "You and yours are marked, turn back from your path. Though each time I have to visit your leaders, I get paid, but repitiion of the same target is tiresome and not befitting one of my talents."

Everyone near us is subject to attack, and some have forsaken our sides because of it. On the other hand, some have been drawn to us because of it, and I don’t know which is more disturbing.

I think the raven feather is clue enough as to what source the attacks have.

Luckily, I have been able to seek some safety in the arms of friends who are better equipped to deal with the dangers than I, but I fear that will just bring forth more experienced assassins.

Unbowed but not unafraid… Piextra
