The Lord Baron of Therengia Announces a Celebration!

Lord Baron Gyfford Theren has announced a grand song and storytelling tournament to celebrate the re-opening of his theater in Therenborough!! Therefore a call is going out for contestants to enter this contest and be amongst the first to officially perform in this theater!Prizes will be awarded, including a part in the 100th Arthe Dale concert! Other prizes will be announced once they are confirmed.

The date for the theater opening is Saturday, October 15th. There will be smaller contests during the day, with a tentative schedule as follows (all times are easterb US):

12:00 pm – 8:00 pm Bad Joke contest
12:00 pm – 8:00 pm Informal busking
1:00 – 2:15 pm Dance contest
3:00 – 3:45 pm Story in the Round, followed by Song in the Round
4:00 – 5:30 pm Impromptu story contest
6:00 – 7:00 pm Impromptu limerick contest
8:00 – 9:00 pm Buffet
9:00 pm – ? Tournament

There will also be various other things going on throughout the day, but you will have to show up in Therenborough to see what they are!

Contestants for the grand tournament must register beforehand, by sending an email to daeriynn@aol.com, with Theater Opening in the subject line. You may ask for a certain time, and I will do my best to accomodate you. As time goes on, I will post the schedule – if enough performers enter!

Rules for the grand tournament:

Judges: His Grace Baron Gyfford, Court Bard Daerlynn Soulmyste, and a guild leader representative from the Bard Guild

Date: Saturday October 15th, beginning at 9:00 pm eastern

Categories that will win prizes: Best Song, Best Story, Best Overall Performance, Best Performance about Therengia

Time Limit: Performances must last no longer than five minutes for songs, or seven minutes for stories. Performances lasting longer than this will have points deducted for every 15 seconds over the limit.

Judging Criteria: Points will be awarded for the following: 1. Overall Presentation & Style, 2. Pacing (for stories) or Form (for songs), 3. Creativity & Originality, 4. Use of language and 5. Pertinence/Specificity to the realms.
