Bard Attacked While Teaching Novice

(Crossing, Zoluren: 16 Nissa 363)

A bard comes in, she has long white hair tied up in a braid over one shoulder.

You notice she looks a tad bit grumpy as she sits down at the bar.

I was out teaching a young bardic novice in goblins when I catch a few thiefs in my pockets.

Naturally I smile and ignore them.

"What’s a few silver to a bard like me?"

Next thing I know one of the Thieves, Ardau whispers in my ear that all Bards suck, now I am a master bard and I can take leucros and vipers just fine. I feel rightly offended by such a remark.

Next thing I know the kid wants to spar, saying if I should "impress" the novice with my skills.

Now I don’t claim to be as good as Piextra or Bubbinster at fighting, but I can hold my own in combat.

"And what’s a matter with a friendly little spar eh?"

I thought it was odd that one apparently so young should want a spar with me, and I told Ardau so, but Ardau called me a cowardly bard, and I just couldn’t stand for that and accepted the challenge.

Next thing I know this "kid" has hidden, and as I search around I realize it ain’t no youngin’ I’m fighting.

Out of hiding he comes firing longbow at melee, hits me in the leg, meanwhile I’m knocking him over with Resolve, but I couldn’t get close enough to hit him. He kept running away.

So I figures enough is enough, and I tend my wounds and consider it a lesson learned.

But no, he comes outta hiding, grabs me by the arm and pulls me into a room filled with hornets!

I got badly stung by that, and then ran to empaths, nerve poison you know just kills bards.

Sought out the Ranger guild, but nobody knew him and spread the word as far as I could about him.

Baresh started working at the Wren’s Nest when it first opened in 349AL. He’s been hearing the news and pouring drinks ever since then.
